For equipment like the Roots blower, inspections are required before starting to prevent any faults from occurring when starting directly. This method can effectively extend the lifespan of the blower. The three-lobe Roots blower has a simple structure and, due to the use of special bearings, possesses exceptional durability. Therefore, it is necessary to inspect the blower beforehand. What inspections need to be done?
1. Check if the wiring in all departments is secure.
2. Check the alignment and centering of the three-lobe Roots blower and the motor. The axis error between the blower and the motor must not exceed 0.2/1000㎜; otherwise, it will cause vibration in the Roots blower, increase noise, and affect the lifespan of the blower.
3. Check if the base of the unit is fully supported and if the anchor bolts are tightened.
4. Before starting the blower, open the vent cover on the top of the main oil tank and the auxiliary oil tank, and add lubricating oil to the oil mark up to 2-3㎜. The type of lubricating oil used varies with seasonal temperature and working environment temperature; N68 oil is used in summer, and N32 oil is used in winter.
5. Supply water to the cooling section, with a water temperature not exceeding 25℃ and a cooling flow rate of about 10-18L/min.
6. Check the valves at the intake and exhaust ports of the three-lobe Roots blower, rotate the rotor, which should roll smoothly, and listen carefully for any abnormal noises.
7. Check the direction of the electric motor; it must match the direction indicated by the directional sign. Otherwise, the blower will not supply air normally and may cause the impeller to collide. When water is in the aeration tank, it can backflow into the blower: during power transmission, it can suck the conveyed material into the blower, causing accidents.
