Reasons why the Roots blower cannot start

  ① Excessive tooth area.

  Generally speaking, the normal meshing area of the Roots blower impeller is about 2/3. If it exceeds this meshing area, it will lead to excessive meshing force between the gears, causing the blower to fail to rotate.

  ② Rust condition

  As the usage time extends,Roots blowerif maintenance is improper, or if the medium being transported has a high moisture content, it can easily cause rust on the inner wall of the blower. In severe cases, the impeller and the wall or casing may rust together, or large areas may fall off due to rust, causing the impeller to jam.   ③ Foreign objects

  During the operation of the Roots blower, if large particles are present in the transported medium, they can easily block part of the cavity, preventing the blower from rotating. At this time, we need to remove foreign objects from the blower cavity, check the gap between the impellers, and also check where the foreign objects have fallen to prevent the failure from happening again.

  ④ Impeller damage

  If the impeller of the Roots blower is damaged, it will prevent the impellers from meshing and rotating, leading to the blower not being able to rotate. In this case, we should recheck.

  ⑤ Bearing damage.

  When the Roots blower has bearing damage, it can easily cause changes in the internal gaps of the blower, leading to impeller friction. In severe cases, it will prevent the blower from rotating. This is an indirect cause of the change in blower gaps and a common reason for the blower not being able to rotate.

  ⑥ Deformation of parts.

  This is mainly due to the poor quality of the purchased parts. Some blower manufacturers excessively reduce costs, leading to substandard component strength. The same model may have different prices, which may indicate issues such as thickness of castings and overly thin shaft necks. Additionally, if the Roots blower equipment is left unused for a long time, it can also cause certain deformation of the parts.

  ⑦ Motor damage.

  When the motor of equipment that has been idle for a long time fails, the blower cannot rotate. At this time, we should check the motor and eliminate the fault.
