Although the principle of the Roots blower is simple, the structure is simple, the performance is stable, and it is easy to manage and maintain. However, to ensure the safe operation and service life of the blower, it ultimately relies on the normal use of the equipment and standardized maintenance. It is necessary to strengthen the three-level inspection system of the equipment, and any abnormalities or potential faults must be dealt with in a timely manner to ensure the blower operates safely, reliably, and stably.
First, the Roots blower must be started in a no-load state. Before starting, the intake and exhaust valves of the blower should be opened. After normal startup, the valves should be gradually adjusted to reach the required airflow, and it cannot be adjusted to the rated airflow all at once. When operating at full load, the Roots blower should not be suddenly shut down; the airflow should be gradually reduced before shutting down to avoid damaging the blower. During normal work, staff should conduct regular inspections each shift, focusing on checking whether the bolts at various parts are loose, whether there is oil seepage at lubrication points, and whether the temperature of the bearings and the blower casing is normal, etc., and keep various inspection records. Regularly check the lubrication and cooling system of the Roots blower, pay attention to the quality of the lubricating oil, and carefully listen for abnormal noises during the blower's operation to assess the condition of the rotor shaft and impeller.
Second, the overload or abnormal operation of the Roots blower is gradually manifested and has a process of quantitative change. It is necessary to always pay attention to the intake and exhaust pressure of the blower, the temperature rise of the bearings, and the operating current of the blower motor. When the above parameters fluctuate, a comprehensive diagnostic check of the blower is required, and timely handling is necessary to avoid further expansion of faults. The blower should undergo regular major repairs every year, and the gaps between the impeller and the impeller, the impeller and the casing, and the impeller and the wall should be checked and adjusted in a timely manner. If the gap exceeds the allowable value, it should be adjusted by experienced maintenance personnel, and arbitrary adjustments are prohibited to ensure the rated air supply of the blower and ensure safe operation, extending the service life of the blower.
If the equipment is idle and not used for a long time, I also suggest that everyone conduct more maintenance to prevent damage, as it would be a loss if it affects the service life!
