The impact of Roots blowers and their cooling and maintenance in winter

Generally, we have soundproofing equipment for Roots blowers. In summer, we open the soundproof cover door. The soundproof cover creates a limited space, which increases the ambient temperature, leading to a higher temperature of the inhaled air and a higher outlet temperature. Many Roots blowers with soundproofing have an inlet temperature exceeding 45 degrees in summer.
First, let me share how to cool down the Roots blower in winter:
1. Generally, Roots blowers are equipped with soundproofing devices. In summer, we open the soundproof cover. The soundproof cover creates a limited space, which increases the ambient temperature, leading to a higher temperature of the inhaled air and a higher outlet temperature. Many Roots blowers with soundproofing have an inlet temperature exceeding 45 degrees in summer.
2. If the blower is installed indoors, air conditioning can be installed. There is no need to worry about air conditioning and electricity costs. Since the motor temperature rises by 10 degrees, the expected lifespan is much lower. Therefore, indoor air conditioning can extend the equipment's lifespan and lower the outlet temperature.
3. Reducing inlet and outlet pressure can help us lower the temperature.
4. Reduce pipeline bends and minimize pressure loss and other pressure losses as much as possible.
We also need to pay attention to daily maintenance of the Roots blower during winter operation. Today, Mingfeng Machinery will briefly introduce the following four points:
1. V-belt
The temperature difference between day and night in winter is significant, which makes the belts, bearings, and other parts of the "Roots blower" very prone to loosening. Therefore, it is essential to check the equipment for looseness.
2. Configure the blower room
Winter is quite cold, and if equipped with a water cooling device, a blower room can be built for the "Roots blower". If placed directly outdoors, the exhaust pipe and other equipment of the "Roots blower" are likely to freeze and crack at night. Therefore, we recommend users to build a machine room in winter. When not in use, be sure to empty all gases, discharge sewage, and drain water. Empty the water, gas, and oil in various pipelines and gas bags, as the temperature is relatively high when the unit is operating in winter. After stopping, due to the lower external temperature, a large amount of condensate will be produced as the air cools, which can exist in various control pipelines, intercoolers, and gas bags, easily causing blockages in control pipelines, intercoolers, and gas bags to swell and crack, so it is essential to discharge the condensate in a timely manner.
3. Gear oil
Additionally, cold weather can affect the lifespan of lubricating oil, so it is recommended that users appropriately shorten the replacement cycle.
4. Operating environment
